COLUMBUS (WCMH)– Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien has announced that Ijuan Isiah Greathouse has plead guilty and been sentenced for one count of robbery.
The theft occurred on December 12, 2015. Greathouse was riding a COTA bus and reached down to steal the driver’s purse before exiting the bus.
The driver did not let go of her purse, and he dragged her down the bus steps. Her head hit the sidewalk and Greathouse fled the scene.
While leaving the scene, authorities say Greathouse dropped a cell phone. This, along with video surveillance and an identification by the victim, helped confirm that Greathouse was the suspect.
He was sentenced to five years in prison and three years parole after his release. He cannot have contact with COTA or their buses during his parole, as part of his plea.
