Rare four-eared cat finds forever home

PITTSBURGH, PA (WCMH) — His name is Batman, and he’s a four-eared-cat who was recently in need of a forever home.

According to KDKA, Batman is a three-year-old feline who was brought to the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society after his owner could no longer care for him.

He’s a really cool cat,” says shelter veterinrian Dr. Todd Blauvelt told KDKA. “He’s really nice. Really affectionate. He has a very rare congenital defect. It doesn’t really affect his hearing. He can hear just fine. But he has two little ear tufts behind his ear. I’ve never encountered that. We had to look it up. We found a couple of cats in the past decades, it was noted.”

The second set of ears doesn’t let Batman hear in stereo, however. The back earflaps don’t have auditory canals.

After his story got some attention on social media, someone scooped Batman right up and gave him a new home.
