COLUMBUS (WDTN) – A recent report says Ohio is one of the laziest states in America.

The report shows that there several factors that labels a state as “lazy”:

  • Lowest average hours worked
  • Shortest commute time
  • Fewest workers per household (Labor force divided by the number households)
  • Highest unemployment rate
  • Fewest adults with a college degree

New Mexico tops the list as the laziest in America, according to the report, with Ohio coming in 6th place.

Here is the top (bottom) 10:

  1. New Mexico
  2. Kentucky
  3. Michigan
  4. Arkansas
  5. Alabama
  6. Ohio
  7. Oregon
  8. Mississippi
  9. Idaho
  10. West Virginia

According to Zippia the reason Ohio came in at No. 6 is due to residents not logging in the hours that other states’ residents are. The average work week is 37.9 hours compared that to other states like Wyoming which was 40.4.

Maryland was the least laziest state, according to the report.
