BASKING RIDGE, NJ (WCMH) – Verizon Wireless is planning to announce changes to its data plans that will offer more data, but at a slightly higher price.
According to CNET, the changes will likely be announced during a press conference at 1pm today.
The changes are:
- ‘S’ plan increases from $30 to $35, data increased from 1gb to 2gb
- ‘M’ plan increases from $45 to $50, data increased from 3gb to 4gb
- ‘L’ plan increases from $60 to $70, data increased from 6gb to 8gb
- ‘XL’ plan increases from $80 to $90, data increased from 12gb to 16gb
- ‘XXL plan increases from $100 to $110, data increased from 18gb to 24gb
The specifics were released to CNET by a source at Verizon. An official spokesperson declined to comment, simply hinting at ‘fireworks’ during this afternoon’s news conference.
Existing customers will have the option of either changing to the new plans or remaining on their old plan.
Verizon could also announce further changes to the plans at the press conference, including Carryover data and an option to throttle speeds instead of paying overages if customers use more than their allotted data, The Consumerist reports.What others are clicking on:
