REYNOLDSBURG (WCMH)–The Reynoldsburg Division of Police shared several photos on Friday of a crash scene after a person ran over a street lamp with a car and fled the scene.
The person told police he had “popped a Xanax” and doesn’t remember anything except for waking up after the crash.
Police say they got a call from a resident on Oct. 17 who heard a loud crash on E. Main St. at Lancaster Ave. Police arrived and deduced that a car ran off the road, hit a street lamp and a tree, and then left the area. Some pieces of the car were on the street, and police found a red bumper in the RPD driveway–with the license plate still on.
The owner of the car told police that his son was in possession of the vehicle.
The suspected driver came to RPD and told officers about the Xanax. He was charged with failure to control his vehicle and hit-skip.
