AUBURN, WA (WCMH) – A Washington state trooper wrote a fairly routine HOV violation ticked Tuesday morning. What was unusual was the method the driver tried to use to prevent getting caught.

In this case, the driver attached a cardboard cutout of Donald Trump’s face on the headrest of his passenger seat.

“You see a lot of things in your career, including mannequins, but this was something else,” said Trooper Rick Johnson, a spokesman for the Washington State Patrol told NBC News.

A trooper stopped the driver on State Route 167 near Auburn Wisconsin. The trooper told the driver, “This is just awesome,” before writing him a $136 ticket.
