DUBLIN, OH (WCMH) – If you travel along Riverside and West Dublin Granville Road, there are some big changes around the area.

The roundabout at the intersection of State Route 161 and Riverside Drive officially opened to traffic early this morning.

In addition to the new roundabout opening, the following changes are also taking place:

  • SR 161 expected to be open to two lanes of traffic in each direction
  • the opening of the new, realigned Riverside Drive
  • closure of old Riverside Drive (to be used by construction crews only for duration of project)
  • closure of the Riverside underpass (for approximately 60 days)
  • opening of John Shields Parkway
  • Left turn prohibitions at Tuller Road and Riverside Drive (Drivers will be permitted right turns only at this intersection, which will be a permanent condition).

The three-lane roundabout replaces a complex series of traffic signals at the intersection.

Traffic has been restricted in the area since construction began in May of 2015.
