COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Winter has nearly arrived, but its impact on area roads is already underway.
The City of Columbus added to its snow plow truck total this year and now has 79 total in the city and could add more in the following months. Even with such large force on the road, there is still a pecking order of which areas get treated first.
Main roads with the heaviest traffic come first, followed by less busy cross streets and then residential areas, which could use assistance from its residents.
In Columbus, it is in violation of city code not to shovel your driveways and sidewalks. It is also a violation to throw snow onto the roads.
