COLUMBUS (WCMH) – The 10th annual Rock on the Range rock festival opens its gates at 11am Friday – here’s what you need to know.
The festival runs until 11pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Gates open at 11am each day, the box office opens at 9am.Parking and traffic
To get to Mapfre Stadium:
- From the north: take I-71 south to the 17th Avenue or Hudson Street exit
- From the south: take I-71 north to the 17th Avenue or Hudson Street exit
- From the west: take I-70 east to I-71 north. Take I-71 to the 17th Avenue or
Hudson Street exit.
- From the east: take I-70 west to I-71 north. Take I-71 to the 17th Avenue or
Hudson Street exit.
Expect heavy traffic on streets surrounding Mapfre Stadium including freeway ramps, Hudson Street, 17th Avenue and Silver Drive.
Parking in the on-site parking lots costs $20. Parking lots open at 8am. No overnight parking is permitted. Organizers say the parking lots will be closed and cleared at midnight each night.
VIP parking is sold out.
Campground parking is only permitted with a camping package.
Ride-sharing services Uber and Lyft both operate in Columbus and can be used to get to Mapfre Stadium. Direct your driver toward the shopping center parking lot on Silver Drive near Hudson Street for easier pick-ups and drop-offs.The festival
Rock on the Range celebrates its 10th anniversary and features headliners Red Hot Chili Peppers, Disturbed and Rob Zombie. Other bands include Shinedown, Five Finger Death Punch, Bring Me The Horizon, A Day To Remember, Megadeth, At The Drive-In, Lamb Of God, Sixx A.M., Hellyeah, and Pennywise.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers are still expected to perform despite the recent hospitalization of lead singer Anthony Kiedis.
