FAYETTE COUNTY, OH (WCMH) — Deputies are investigating after a security threat closes two school districts in Fayette County, Friday.

According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Washington Courthouse Police Department received a threat of a possible pipe bomb to both Miami Trace and Washington Courthouse City Schools.

Because the caller was vague and indicated the bomb could be at any of the school buildings, school was cancelled for the day.

Deputies say it could have been a computerized call, but the caller sounded male. The Franklin County bomb squad sent a K9 unit to help investigate.

The basketball game between the two school districts has also been cancelled.Keep checking NBC4i.com for real-time updates on this story. To get alerts for breaking news, grab the free NBC4 News App for iPhone or Android. You can also sign up for email alerts.
