COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A pit bull has been defying the odds and he’s only seven years old.
“His doctor calls him a miracle child because no one expected him to do this well for this long,” said Tamra Mathie, with Hospets.
Bronx began feeling sick a year ago.
“Last November, so November of 2015, he started acting funny, not eating,” said Mathie.
The pup was diagnosed with Kidney Disease and problems with his digestive system. Brox was given three months to live.
“We have now made it a year and one month since then,” said Mathie.
Bronx needs a feeding tube, but before he gets one, a local hotel helped him do one of his favorite things one last time.
Bronx took a dip in the indoor pool at the Embassy Suites in Dublin on Sunday.
“I never expected it to go this well,” said Mathie. “I never expected to get this opportunity.
Bronx and his twin brother played fetch and swam around the pool for what may be the last time together.
It’s a moment Bronx and his owner will never forget.
According to the group’s Facebook page, Hospets “provides free pet care services for referred seniors and hospice patients who need help caring for their pets.”
