MINNEAPOLIS, MN (KELO) — Here’s some bad news for all those Snickers Blizzard fans out there.

Dairy Queen spokesperson Dean Peters says the company removed the Snickers Blizzard from its menu back in June. He said the decision to take the candy bar off the menu was based on sales and menu size.

“We only have so many flavors,” Peters said. “It was a tough decision.”

Back in 1986, Dairy Queen added Snickers to its Blizzard lineup. The fast food chain launched the mixed ice cream treat a year earlier in 1985. But Peters said fans could see their favorite return because the company tends to bring back retired flavors.

“You can never say never, it may return some day,” Peters said.
