St. Baldrick’s Day: Going bald to combat childhood cancer

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Some shiny new bald heads were revealed Saturday and all for a good cause.

It was the annual St. Baldrick’s Foundation Head-Shaving at Fado Irish Pub.

More than 80 brave souls signed up to go bald to raise money for childhood cancer research.

Dozens gathered to cheer them on. There was a lot of green, a lot of beer and a lot of fun.

Hannah Lewis is a St. Baldrick’s Honored Child. She’s a six year childhood cancer survivor.

“We’ve had crowds of like 3,000 and you just get up there and you feel surrounded by like one huge family. it’s a really supporting environment,” she says.

Saturday was the final day of this year’s fundraising campaign. More than $35,000 was raised this year.
