PEEBLES, Ohio (WCMH) – Authorities are investigating a fatal plane crash that occurred in southwest Ohio Monday afternoon.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, one man is dead after a twin-engine plane crashed into a wooded area at 3:08 p.m. near Savage Road, in Adams County’s Bratton Township. The crash occurred near a home, but no property was reported damaged.

The pilot, 46-year-old Harris Coles from Vicksburg, Michigan, suffered fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The OSHP said Coles was flying a 1960 twin-engine Cessna 310D, though the cause of the crash remains under investigation. There were no other injuries reported, and Coles was the only occupant of the plane.
