CENTERVILLE, OH (WDTN) — Police say a prank call led to a large response in a Centerville neighborhood Monday morning.
According to police, someone called 911 around 8 am Monday claiming they shot an intruder inside a home in the 8200 block of Rhine Way, near Edelweiss Drive.
Police responded with several units and surrounded the home. Officers tried to make contact with the person who called 911 but could not contact them.
Officers eventually went inside, where they didn’t find anyone inside the home.
After investigating, police determined the call was not credible.
Police will investigate to determine who made the false call.
According to police, someone had recently bought the house but was not living there yet when the call was made.
