JACKSONVILLE, FL (WTLV) — Students at La Core Christian Elementary School in Jacksonville, Florida are learning math and having fun at the same time.

Recently a video of students in one class practicing long division went viral – with a Facebook video garnering over 5 million views.

“My students are very lively,” says Nadine Ebri, a fourth grade teacher at the school – and the creator of the video.

“There was one day we were working on long division,” said Ze’yaria Dun, one of the video’s stars.

“Somebody started beating on the table. That is when we started to make it into a song,” said Clarence Stringfield, another of the video’s stars.

Ebri says, for every student to learn and succeed, you have to teach in different ways.

“Times are changing and you have to change with the kids,” she said. “So I try to integrate songs with everything that I do, especially with math because a lot of students struggle with math. So I think it is imperative to integrate music with math.”
