COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Police are looking for a robbery suspect after they held a clerk at knife-point and robbed a Family Dollar Store in east Columbus.
It happened around 9:45am Saturday. A man entered the store at 2191 East 5th Avenue and approached the counter. He showed a large kitchen knife and demanded money. He then confronted the manager with the knife and told them to open the register.
The manager cooperated and the suspect got away with an unknown amount of cash.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 20 to 30 years-old. He’s 5’6″ to 5’8″ tall and 140 pounds. He has long braids and a scar on his left cheek. He was wearing a gray shirt with maroon sleeves, dark pants, a black baseball cap, and is armed with a large knife.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
