COLUMBUS, OH (WCMH) — A 22-year-old Columbus woman has been cited for drunk driving after rear-ending a police cruiser overnight.
It happened just after 2:30 a.m. on I-70 East near the Champion Avenue overpass.
The damage to Leah Marquez’s silver sedan was pretty substantial. But police said the cruiser wasn’t totaled.
Columbus Police Officers Nate Wilson and Nate Trip were treated and released at Grant Medical Center. Police said they had bumps and bruises. Marquez was also taken to Grant in stable condition, but it is unknown if she has been released.
Marquez was cited for OVI, Changing Lanes without Safety, Failure to Control and Assured Clear Distance Ahead. Additional charges could be filed pending her blood alcohol results.
