COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Investigators are still on the search for the men who robbed and beat a college student last fall.
The victim, Shaun Kaltenbach, had just finished classes at Columbus State Community College on the evening of Sept. 14, 2015, according to police. He had made it to Spring Street near Talmadge Street around 9 pm when he notice three males walking towards him.
Investigators said Kaltenbach the three suspects confronted him and viciously beat him in the head, face and body until he went unconscious. When he woke up, he said the suspects took his clothes, cell phone, ID, keys, backpack and books. He found shelter at a nearby residence and waited for police and medics to arrive. He was taken to the hospital and underwent reconstructive surgery due to several broken bones in his face.
Investigators describe the suspects as black males in their late teens or early 20s. One of the men is described as about 6 feet tall and weighing 140 to 150 pounds with shoulder-length dreadlocks.
Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for any information leading to the arrest or indictment of the people responsible for this crime.
