COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Officials have determined a briefcase found outside Tuttle Mall on Monday was determined safe.

Columbus Division of Fire officials said the bomb squad found “non-descript personal items” in a briefcase found in the bushes near the Panera Bread restaurant. Officials then began evacuating the area of the mall near the Red Robin and Panera Bread restaurants.

Parts of the mall were closed for more than two hours as crews worked to investigate the package.

Officials first told NBC4 the entire mall is being evacuated but later revised that statement saying only part of the mall is being evacuated.
