COLUMBUS (WCMH) – The game may not have been in Columbus Saturday night, but that didn’t stop fans in central Ohio from tailgating.

The showdown in Oklahoma wasn’t the only battle one group of Buckeye fans are hoping to win.

Stef’s Celebrate Life Tailgate has raised nearly $600,000 for the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer at Ohio State’s James Cancer Hospital in its six years.

Each year, the group meets with the center to discuss need and to choose a piece of equipment to buy.

“This year we are raising money for a very specific camera that treats some devastating side effects of a mastectomy called Lymphedema,” said Board Member for Stef’s FDN Erin Smith. “This camera can re-attach the channels that are severed during a mastectomy and it can help reduce the swelling and pain and sometimes infection that can go along with that.”

Although the tailgate is all wrapped up, those who wish to donate can visit the Stef’s Celebrate Life Tailgate website to learn more about the group and make a donation.
