DENVER, CO (WCMH) — A waitress in Colorado has been fired for allegedly posting a tweet that many customers considered racist.
According to KMGH, the waitress, Megan Olson, was upset after one of her customers didn’t leave a tip.
“If we had a real life purge I would kill as many Mexicans as I could in one night” Olson wrote in the tweet.
“If you’re going to go on social media that brightly and say what she said, you need to be removed from that public position,” said Olson’s next door neighbor Willie Grantham.
Olson was fired from her job at Texas Roadhouse, after people began leaving messages on the restaurants Facebook page.
“Our managing partner at our Greeley location was actually mowing his lawn when he was alerted. He immediately rushed to the restaurant, met with this employee who posted this disgusting tweet and she was terminated,” Travis Doster, Texas Roadhouse Spokesperson told KMGH.
Olson did write an apology saying she had a momentary lack of judgment, and she didn’t mean what she wrote on Twitter.
