Be careful when you text–a new scam has surfaced, aimed at stealing data from iPhone users.
According to NBC Bay Area, the message comes via text, claiming your Apple ID or iCloud account needs to be updated.
Security expert Slawek Ligier of Barracuda Networks told NBC Bay Area that “they ask for your name, address, even your passport information.”
The text is a way to steal personal data. NBC Bay Area tech expert Scott Budman says to watch your texts a little closer than normal. If a text looks unfamiliar, he says, copy and paste the link to your web browser. If the site it takes you to isn’t completely familiar, delete the text.What others are clicking on:
