Voters in Ohio’s 12th congressional district are less than two weeks away from a special election and just three months away from heading to the ballot box again.
The special election will determine whether Democrat and current Franklin County Recorder Danny O’Connor or Republican and current state senator Troy Balderson will go to Washington, D.C. to serve out the rest of former congressman Pat Tiberi’s term.
Both O’Connor and Balderson will be back on the ballot in November running for the new term that begins in January.
O’Connor wants to be the first Democrat to represent the 12th district in decades. He won the surprise endorsement of the Republican-leaning Columbus Dispatch, and he says he is working hard to win votes.
Watch Colleen Marshall’s full interview with O’Connor above. Balderson will join Colleen on The Spectrum for a one-on-one interview next Sunday.
