LODI, CA (WCMH) — A thief got more than he bargained for when he stole a package off a California couple’s front porch.

The couple had recently set up a surveillance system in hopes of catching the thief, who they say has struck several times. But that didn’t stop the man from coming back.

After getting robbed twice, the couple decided to strike back and placed a box from Amazon out on their front porch before they left for work.

“You want to know what was in [the box]? It was full of poop,” Torres told KTXL-TV.

The couple placed the smelly box right where their security camera could get the best possible image of the suspect, and it worked. Now, they’ve handed over their evidence to police, but their hope their smelly surprise will keep the thief away.

“We’re angry enough to do something like that so stay away from our house,” Torres told KTXL-TV.What others are clicking on:
