COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Investigators are looking for a man who swiped a specialized bicycle from outside a north Columbus bank.

Surveillance cameras captured the unidentified man outside the PNC Bank at 7644 Sawmill Road at about 2:44 p.m. on April 18. The man, described as a white male with a thin-to-medium build and bald, walked up to the bank and saw the bike leaning against a wall. The bike is a “specialized” black Roubaix road bike with flat handle bars, black rims and is made of lightweight carbon fiber. The suspect got on the bike and rode away from the bank.

The bike had been taken to the bank by a customer, who arrived about 10 minutes before his bike was stolen and left about 10 minutes after the bike was taken. He told law enforcement the bike was valued at more than $2,000.

Investigators said the suspect was last seen wearing a light gray jacket, baggy shorts, a white t-shirt, black athletic shoes and white ankle socks. He may also have markings or tattoos on his calves.
