Thief steals bread truck to break into west Nashville Costco

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A thief stole a bread delivery truck from outside the Costco in west Nashville and used it to break into the store to steal jewelry.

It happened at Costco in the Nashville West shopping complex off Charlotte Pike around 4:15 a.m.

The driver was making a delivery when his truck reportedly was stolen from one side of the Costco and driven to the other by the thief.

The thief allegedly used the truck and drove it into a bay door to gain entry into the store. The suspect reportedly took a large jewelry case before fleeing in a white Ford Mustang with a Missouri license plate.

During Friday morning’s storms, a white Ford Mustang with Missouri tags was stolen from the Budget Rent-a-Car, located at 300 North First Street.

A K-9 unit was pulling in to check the business as the Mustang was driving away

The thief left the truck in the door lodged in the bay door.

The driver resumed his route.
