COLUMBUS (WCMH) – A bottle of orange soda led police to a man suspected of breaking into a southwest Columbus home.

Someone smashed out the rear glass door at the home on Tall Meadows Drive on December 12, 2014, according to police.

According to court documents, the homeowner noticed that someone drank from a previously unopened 2-liter bottle of Orange soda. Police were able to take DNA from the bottle and submit it to the police lab.

DNA results returned on February 4 linked 31-year-old Loren Michael Chandler to the crime. He was arrested and charged with burglary.
