TOLEDO (WCMH) — The Toledo Zoo shared some exciting birth news in an announcement released on Friday.
The zoo’s 16-year-old polar bear named Crystal gave birth to a single cub on December 3, 2015.
The cub and new mom are currently staying in the birthing den as the zoo staff carefully monitors the cub’s progress.
The zoo plans to announce the cub’s gender when it is old enough to be in the exhibit sometime in the Spring. An exact date has not been determined.
