COLUMBUS (WCMH) – Underclassmen are all moved into their dorms on Ohio State’s campus, and classes officially began Tuesday. In honor of another school year getting underway for the Buckeyes, we asked NBC4 viewers what their favorite places on campus were, and here’s what they said:The Oval

While most university campuses have a quad, Ohio State has the Oval. While you might take it for granted as you scurry through on your way to class, the Oval is the place to be, whether you’re playing a game of Frisbee, meeting up with your friends or catching some sunlight in the spring.Insomnia Cookies

Located on north campus, this late-night bakery is the perfect stop when you’re jonesing for something sweet. With delivery and pickup hours into the wee hours of the morning and a menu featuring everything from cookie sandwiches, cookie cakes, brownies, ice cream and of course cookies, you won’t be disappointed, no matter how late your study session runs.Mirror Lake

Even though it is no longer fed by a natural spring, the original Mirror Lake (which isn’t far from where it is today), was a deciding factor for the location of Ohio State University. It’s surrounded by campus landmarks and holds a long history of Ohio State traditions.Buckeye Donuts

A donut shop that’s open 24 hours? Sign me up! Buckeye Donuts has been serving hot coffee and fresh donuts since 1969. With 32 varieties to choose from, the hardest part will be deciding what to get! Plus, Buckeye Donuts serves more than just coffee and donuts – they also serve other breakfast items, gyros salads and more!Thompson Library

Sure, studying can suck…but why make it worse by doing it in a noisy, poorly lit dorm room? Head over to Thompson Library on campus and choose from the numerous study rooms and take advantage of its view of the Oval! Pro-tip: The Campus Reading Room on the top floor boasts views of the entire campus and downtown Columbus.Orton Hall

Built in 1883, Orton Hall is one of the oldest buildings on campus. Not only does it house the Orton Geological Museum (complete with a giant ground sloth, a prehistoric carnivorous fish and the skull of a Jurassic period dinosaur, but the building itself is also quite amazing.  The building boasts 24 gargoyles and grotesques featuring the head of an extinct prehistoric animal,  12 bells in the bell tower and an exterior made of 40 different kinds of Ohio stone as they appear in the state’s bedrock!
