PLANO, TX (WCMH) — Toyota is issuing a safety recall of approximately 744,000 Model Year 2011-2016 Toyota Sienna vehicles sold across the United States.

The issue involves motor circuit that controls the sliding doors on the minivans. In certain conditions, the circuits can overload, opening the fuse for the motor. If that occurs, the door could open while driving, increasing the risk of injury to a vehicle occupant.

In a news release, Toyota said it is currently developing a fix for the door issue and will notify owners by mid-January.

All known owners of the involved vehicles will be notified by first class mail by mid-January.
