AKRON, Ohio (WCMH) — Republican nominee Donald Trump visited the Buckeye state again on Monday, speaking to a packed house at the University of Akron’s Rhodes Arena.

Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City, spoke before the presidential hopeful took the stage. Trump addressed the crowd, telling them he was beginning an hour early because the event was so full.

“What the hell do you have to lose? Give me a chance,” Trump said of his candidacy. “I’ll straighten it out.”

Outside the arena, people lined up a few hours before the rally began.

John Mack, who said he works for a grocery business in Plymouth, Ohio, said he wanted to hear more specifics about Trump’s economic plans and regulation.

“I’m a businessman myself and I’m looking forward to seeing a businessman in the White House,” Mack said.

Karen Filla and Reed Crick came from Novelty, Ohio, to see Trump speak.

“I just want him to promise me that he won’t become a politician like the rest of them,” Filla said, laughing.

There were also a couple of protesters outside the arena, holding a Black Lives Matter poster.

During his speech, which lasted nearly an hour, Trump touched on topics from immigration to Hillary Clinton’s emails as the crowd chanted “build that wall” and “lock her up.”

“We learned about another 15,000 emails [Clinton] failed to turn over, and they’ve just been discovered, I guess today,” Trump said.

He told the crowd a Trump administration would be the end of corruption.

“No one will be above the law,” Trump said. “We will have one set of rules for everyone.”

Trump hit home with the northeast Ohio crowd when he talked about jobs.

“We’re going to put the miners and the steel workers back to work, and we’re going to get your energy bills down fast,” Trump said.

Afterward, the reaction from some supporters was positive.

Mary Alice Navratil of Suffield, Ohio, said, “He’s an outsider and I just want him to represent us-the people.”

“He’s going to make America great again,” said Mark Rensel, who came from Tallmadge, Ohio. “I want to be able to tell my grandchildren that I was here.”

Trump travels to Austin, Texas on Tuesday, then to Florida and Mississippi on Wednesday.
