COLUMBUS (WCMH) –Two people were injured Thursday evening after shots were fired in east Columbus.

It happened near the intersection of Lilley Avenue and East Mound Street.

According to police, the first victim, 22-year-old Telley Palmer, was shot in the groin area. The second victim, 16-year-old Dashawn Bonds, was hit in the back. They were both transported to local hospitals in stable condition.

Police say the victims and two others were walking on Lilley Avenue when an unknown suspect fired multiple shots at them. NBC4’s Shawn Lanier counted at least 19 cones marking shell casings.
