MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (AP) – A 2-year-old boy has been hospitalized after authorities say he was found unresponsive in a bathtub in southwest Ohio.

The incident happened around 8 p.m. Thursday in Madison Township. The Butler County Sheriff’s Office says deputies arrived at the home and started CPR on the boy, who was flown to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

WLWT reports the boy was in the tub, when one of his parents left the bathroom. When the parents returned, the boy was unresponsive.

The boy remains in the hospital’s intensive care unit.

The incident is under investigation.
