(NBC) — Friday’s “Dateline” is an all-new two-hour episode, reported by new correspondent Blayne Alexander, who covers the mysterious murder of Rhonda “Chantay” Blankinship.

After 25-year-old Chantay Blankinship’s remains are found at an abandoned building, investigators sort through dead-end leads until a stunning confession during a church service changes everything.

Here is a preview of Alexander’s report:

Down this back country road sits an abandoned farmhouse. The few people who know it’s here call it, the “Haunted House.”

ELISHA BIRD: This place is truly creepy, straight out of a horror movie.

But one night, the horror became real.

RANGER JASON SHEA: This was an innocent girl who hadn’t done anything wrong and then we find her in the bottom of the cellar.

LINDA LEMOND: It was like, “No this doesn’t happen here. Not at all.”

Why would anybody want to hurt Chantay Blankinship?

ELISHA BIRD: You think Friday the 13th, you start wondering, “Is there something more sinister than just somebody got  murdered?”

The killer was probably among them.

RANGER JASON SHEA: We’ve got to catch this person before they did it again.

SCOTT BIRD: I’m willing to try anything.

The search for justice would lead to a different house, not in the woods or the brush — a house of worship.

RUSSEL LEMOND: I grabbed the pew and I was like, “How?”

Had evil made its way there too?

Watch “Dateline: The Haunted House Confession” Friday on NBC4 at 9 p.m.
