(NBC News) — On Friday’s all-new “Dateline,” a troubling case involving the murders of two women in the same Texas apartment complex that would take years to solve.

Here is a preview of Andrea Canning’s report:

He attacked in the dead of night.

ADRIENNE:  I hear breathing and this sound.

CHIMA: He said, “Don’t scream and I won’t kill you.”

TASHA:  I’m thinking, “Was he after me? Was I the reason that she was attacked?”

His rampage would nearly paralyze a city.

LE NOIR:  You don’t have fear. You don’t have concern. You’ve got absolute panic.

SKYLA: I didn’t think I would make it past 30.

ADRIAN: Everything inside of me knew that I was going to be a part of that story.

ANDREA: Did you think you were going to die?

ADRIANE: I did.

ANDREA: This man has to be stopped.

LE NOIR:  Yes, he’s evil, he is going to strike again.

Investigators were connecting the dots. And they were about to crack the case wide open with the most important detail of all.
