The hosts of “Fox & Friends” apologized Monday for mistakenly showing a graphic that suggested Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had died.

The obituary graphic appeared on the show for two seconds shortly after a commercial break. “Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg 1933-2019,” it read.

“We need to apologize … A technical error in the control room triggered a graphic of RBG with a date on it,” co-host Steve Doocy said later on the show. “We don’t want to make it seem anything other than that was a mistake. That was an accident.”

“We apologize, big mistake,” co-host Ainsley Earhardt added.

“This was a technical error that emanated from the graphics team.” a Fox News spokesperson said in a statement.

Ginsburg, 85, broke three ribs in a November fall. Last month, she underwent a pulmonary lobectomy after doctors spotted cancerous growths in her left lung. She’s been working from home as she continues to recover from the surgery, missing oral arguments last week for the first time since she was appointed to the court in 1993.

The Washington Post reports Ginsburg’s recovery is “on track” and that no remaining cancer has been found.
