SIMI VALLEY, CA (WCMH) — Police arrested an Uber driver near Los Angeles Sunday night, saying he was driving passengers with a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit.
According to Simi Valley police, an officer noticed a vehicle without a front license plate slowing down as it approached a green light.
After the officer pulled the car over, he learned that the driver was driving for Uber and had already driven two or three other fares after watching the Super Bowl at an area bar.

The driver, 46-year-old Robert Wing was unaware of his location and was relying on GPS to direct him around the city, according to police. Wing was arrested and charged with DUI. His vehicle was also impounded.
Police said Wing had a blood alcohol level of .25%.
According to NBC Los Angeles, Uber said it is working with police to assist in the investigation.
“We have a zero tolerance policy for alcohol or drug use for anyone driving on the Uber platform,” the statement said. “We are clearly disappointed to hear that something like this could have occurred and have permanently removed this driver-partner’s access to Uber.”
Wing was booked into the Ventura County Jail and was released on bond pending an April court date.
