CELINA, Ohio (WDTN) – The remains found near Grand Lake St. Mary’s in January have been sent to Texas.
Last week, Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey said the Ohio Bureau of Investigation was able to get a partial profile from DNA evidence but have been unsuccessful identifying the victim.
The remains have been sent to the University of North Texas for further investigation. Officials say it may take about six months for the results.
Police say the victim is believed to be a male between 20 and 35 years old.
This case is being investigated as a homicide by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.
