MINNEAPOLIS, MN (KARE) — Chances are pretty good when you think vegan or vegetarian, a butcher shop isn’t what comes to mind, but the owners of Herbivorous Butcher in Minneapolis, Minnesota hope to change that.
“We make meat-free meats and cheese-free cheeses, and we call it that for a reason because it’s not just a meat alternative,” explains Kale Walch.
“It’s really, really exciting and the fact that the dream actually came true I think is really remarkable for both of us, we still don’t believe it,” adds Aubry Walch, Kale’s sister and co-owner of the shop.
The Walch’s dream of a brick and mortar store started at Minneapolis Farmer’s market more than five years ago. Last year loyal supporters helped them raise more than $60,000 in what was then the largest ever vegan Kickstarter campaign to build the store.Read more: http://kare11.tv/1lzsv65
