NEW BRUNSWICK, Canada (NBC News) — A massive lobster nicknamed King Louis will be heading home to the ocean after a woman bought him to set him free.
According to CTV, King Louis is a 23 pound lobster that was caught in the Bay of Fundy off Saint Martins. For the last few days his home has been the Alma Lobster Shop, but on Wednesday, Katie Conklin, a vegan, bought him for $230.
What did she want the shop to do with King Louis? She asked that they set him free, so that’s what they did.
A lobster fisherman took King Louis in a crate, and put the crustacean back into the water.
King Louis is estimated to be about 100 years old.
