CHICAGO (WCMH) — A Chicago driver is lucky to be alive after his Lamborghini split in half during a crash.

According to WLS-TV, the driver was pulled out of the car shortly after the crash and before the vehicle exploded.

“We started smelling fuel. So we said, ‘OK, everybody lifted a leg, lifted an arm, got him from underneath the steering wheel,’” said witness Andre King.

According to King, the Lamborghini was hit by another vehicle, causing the sports car to hit a light pole, splitting it in two.

One person was transported to the hospital after the crash, but emergency crews did not release his condition.
