STOCKHOLM, Sweden (WCMH) – Have you ever had the desire to call up a random person in another country, just to chat?

Instead of being annoyed with that kind of behavior, one Scandinavian country is inviting it.

The Swedish Tourist Association launched ‘The Swedish Number’ earlier this week. The number allows anyone in the world to call and be connected with a random Swede who has volunteered to answer calls.

The Swedish Tourist Association says on their website that they want to spark people curiosity about Sweden.

When someone outside of Sweden calls + 46 771 793 336, the call is automatically routed to a Swede somewhere in Sweden.

Calls can be answered by anyone in Sweden who has registered as an ‘ambassador’ by downloading an app on their smartphones.
