WATCH: 13-year-old singer earns season’s first golden buzzer on America’s Got Talent

A 13-year-old opera singer left the America’s Got Talent judges speechless Tuesday and walked away with the season’s first golden buzzer.

Laura Bretan was nervous as she got on stage for the audition of a lifetime in front of Simon Cowell, Mel B, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel.

Bretan then went on to earn a standing ovation with her rendition of ‘Nessun Dorma’  – even receiving high praise from Simon Cowell.

“You came out like a jelly. I didn’t think you would be able to talk.  And then I’m thinking to myself, ‘oh my god if she starts to sing this is not going to work.’ And then that just happened. I have never heard anything like that in all the years I’ve been doing this show. Seriously,” said Cowell. “It was unbelievable. What made it even better is the fact that you are such a sweet person, so humble, not even aware of how amazing you are.”

“You literally made all my hairs stand up on end, and you’re only 13 years old,” said former Spice Girl Mel B. “I think this that this show is going to completely change your life. And I’m going to change your life right now.”

Mel B then slammed her hand down on the golden buzzer, sending confetti down on Bretan and propelling her straight to the live shows.

It was Bretan’s first appearance on America’s Got Talent, but she is no stranger to the stage. She left the judged on Romania’s Got Talent similarly stunned in April. She is also a three time ‘Stars of Tomorrow’ winner at the famed Apollo Theater. What others are clicking on:
