PARKLAND, FL (WCMH) — It only took seconds for a thief to make off with a woman’s purse while she was pumping gas.

It happened at a gas station in Parkland, Florida, and cameras caught the entire crime on video.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office shared the video on its Facebook page showing two men pull up in a silver four-door Toyota Camry with dark tinted windows right next to the victim’s car.

The men wait for the woman to start pumping gas. Once she was distracted, surveillance video shows one of the men get out of his vehicle, crouch down, quietly open her driver-side door and snatch her handbag. Seconds later, the thief and his passenger were gone.

Deputies shared the video to show just how quickly you can become a crime victim. They recommend you lock your doors at all times when you get out of your vehicle, even if you’re still standing next to it.

The men seen in the video have not been captured. Deputies are offering a $3,000 reward.
