JACKSON, MI (WJTV) – Parents and students are on edge after a mother briefly brandished a gun during what appeared to be a fight between students at a Mississippi high school.
JPS officials tell WJTV-TV that a parent brought a gun to Forest Hill High School.
The district held a news conference Wednesday to discuss the issue. Our crews went to the school Tuesday afternoon and saw officers on the scene.
The they said the parent went to Forest Hill to discuss discipline issues about her child that is a student there. While the parent was at the school, a fight broke out. School officials said she showed an officer the gun she had, but she left before she could be taken into custody.
School officials said they have increased security.
Administrators and authorities are investigating Tuesday’s fight to see what disciplinary actions will be taken against the students.
An arrest warrant has been issued for the parent.
