POWELL, OH (WCMH) –The three Amur tiger cubs made their public debut at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium earlier this week.
The three baby tigers, Metis (male), Callisto (female) and Elara (female) enjoyed their first appearance along with their mother, Irisa. The cubs are named after Jupiter’s moons as their father’s name is Jupiter.
Amur tigers are critically endangered with fewer than 400 individuals believed to exist in the forests of the Russian Far East.
The cubs will be on view from 10:30am to 2pm daily as conditions allow.
