SAN DIEGO, CA (WCMH) — A young boy who is battling Leukemia worked up the courage to ask his favorite nurse a very important question.

The 5-year-old boy asked her to marry him.

“Iron” Gideon Robinson is a patient at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, KTLA-TV reports. He’s grown close to the staff of doctors and nurses, but his favorite is a nurse he calls “Tall Sarah.”

So while mom was looking on, Gideon walked up to the nurse and got down on one knee to ask her the all important question.

“I bent my knee down, and then I pulled the ring out, put on her finger, and then it was over,” Gideon said.

As other hospital staff began to tear up, nurse Sara gave the waiting 5-year-old a quick response.

“Of course you can be my hospital husband! Aw, thank you!” nurse Sarah said.

Gideon’s mom, who helped him practice before popping the question, says her son probably got the idea to ask for marriage from television.
