WHITEHALL, Ohio (WCMH) – Clean up is underway after extensive roof damage at Whitehall-Yearling High School after heavy winds Saturday night.
The winds caught the roof over the Enrollment Center to the rear of the high school and tossed thick foam insulation all over the ground.
Damage appeared limited to the roof, and custodians didn’t think there was any damage to the interior.
A heavy black tarp was draped over the old practice gym roof and down onto the enrollment center.
Custodian George Burton said renovations had been made to the structure within the last year. He was already cleaning up by 7 a.m., and said most of the custodial staff was also called in.
Monday’s classes are expected as usual.
