Woman accused of killing husband by running over him with car

HOUSTON, TX (WCMH) — A 28-year-old Houston woman faces murder charges after police say she ran over and killed her husband.

Police say Justin Campbell was driving Katherine Seals to get a drug test when the two began arguing, KTRK-TV reports. Court documents say the argument began when Campbell accused Seals of cheating on him.

Seals told police that during the argument, Campbell “grabbed her by the back of the hair and began pushing her head into the passenger door glass.” The police report noted the Seals didn’t appear to have any injuries.

Documents say Campbell then pulled into the parking lot of a fast food restaurant and got out of the vehicle. Seals then got into the driver’s seat and hit the gas.

When Seals saw Campbell lying on the concrete, “she panicked and left,” court documents state. Seals later told a friend, “I was mad at the way he looked at me and I smashed the gas.”

Campbell died several weeks later at the hospital. Seals, who was already on probation for assaulting a family member three years ago, is now being held in jail on a $500,000 bond, KTRK-TV reports.
